ADL young leaders and staff meet remotely with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado.

ADL volunteer leaders and staff meet with Andy Merrit, U.S. Senator Cory Gardner’s District Director

The ongoing pandemic and social distancing measures did not prevent ADL Mountain States volunteer leaders and staff from meeting with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives during the summer recess. In each meeting, important policy issues were discussed including:  legislation to respond to growing domestic terror threats and hate crimes; voting access, safety and security; measures to protect houses of worship; and more.

Participants in the lawmaker visits included a group of ADL young leaders who are all alumni of the regional Robert B. Sturm Mountain States Leadership Fellows program (known nationally as the Glass Leadership Institute). The young leaders, Board members and staff met with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and Andy Merritt, U.S. Senator Cory Gardner’s State Director. In addition, meetings were held with staff of U.S. Representatives Ed Perlmutter and Joe Neguse, both of Colorado.

Those interested in taking action on ADL’s priority policy issues can visit ADL’s Action Center and send personalized messages to their members of Congress.
