An Open Letter of Thanks to Congressman Doug Lamborn

The Honorable Doug Lamborn

U.S. Congress

2402 Rayburn House Office Building

Washington, DC 20515

March 23, 2018

Dear Congressman Lamborn,

On behalf of the Mountain States Region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), thank you for your efforts in ensuring the inclusion of the Taylor Force Act in the omnibus spending bill passed today in Congress. We welcome the provision in the bill that conditions certain American aid to the Palestinian Authority on ending the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s practice of specifically paying families of jailed and deceased terrorists. ADL also applauds the allocation of $10 million to promote interreligious understanding and cooperation abroad, as well as $1 million of that amount being specifically designated for fighting anti-Semitism.

At a time of rising anti-Semitism in the U.S. and across the world, including a 300% increase in anti-Semitic incidents our office has tracked in Colorado over the past three years, it is highly significant that Congress is stepping up in such a tangible way to address the challenge. We appreciate both the funding and the steps taken to ensure that our tax dollars are not being used to support and reward terrorism

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for agreeing to be one of the Honorary Hosts of the 37th Annual Governor’s Holocaust Remembrance Program, which is sponsored by ADL and will be held on April 24, 2018 at Temple Emanuel in Denver. For your efforts in championing the Taylor Force Act and for partnering with ADL to ensure that the Holocaust and its lessons are never forgotten, we offer you our deep thanks and appreciation.

Sincerely yours,

Scott L. Levin

Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Regional Director
