Families, educators and students are buying school supplies, decorating classrooms, sharpening pencils and getting ready for a productive school year. The Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region is also getting ready for a busy No Place for Hate® school year, including updating and creating new classroom materials, recruiting new schools and registering schools for the No Place for Hate® Initiative’s 9th year. The beginning of the year is the best time to start, so introduce the Initiative to your school and get your school registered today at www.adl.org/noplaceforhatedenver.

ADL is proud to share the results of its year-end survey, which was sent to over 100 educators (principals, counselors, deans, assistant principals, teachers, social workers, school psychologists and family liaisons), all of whom were directly involved in implementing No Place for Hate® during the 2015-2016 school year. This is what they told us about the impact of the Initiative:

  • 84% said that No Place for Hate was “effective” or “very effective” in creating a positive and safe school climate, which is a 2% increase from the previous year.
  • 87% reported that the campaign has been “effective” or “very effective” in reducing name-calling behaviors, which is an increase of 15% from the previous year.
  • 76% reported that the Initiative was “effective” or “very effective” in reducing bullying behaviors, which is an increase of 2%.
  • 74% stated that No Place for Hate was either “effective” or “very effective” in providing tools to address bias-motivated behaviors.

Forty schools have already committed to this year-long program and space is limited. Be sure to register soon and kick off your school year with empowerment and positivity.
