As part of ADL’s Centennial celebration and the National Constitution Center’s 10th anniversary programming, ADL’s 14th annual Supreme Court Review was presented to a live audience in Philadelphia and webcasted live around the country, including the Mountain States ADL regional office in Denver, on July 2. Law school deans and legal scholars Erwin Chemerinsky (UCI) and Frederick Lawrence (Brandeis), and Lyle Denniston of SCOTUSblog examined significant civil rights rulings from the Supreme Court’s 2012 – 2013 term.
In New York, ADL law firms and law schools hosted events where attorneys, law students and others watched as these legal experts scrutinized the Supreme Court’s most important cases. The panelists also analyzed how Supreme Court jurisprudence has evolved on the religion and free speech clauses of the First Amendment, issues central to ADL’s mission.
