The Mountain States Office of the Anti-Defamation League today expressed disappointment that the Colorado Senate failed to pass Senate Bill 170, the “tuition equity” bill, which would have offered in-state tuition to students educated in Colorado, regardless of immigration status.
“It is a shame that the Colorado Senate failed to do the right thing by providing equitable educational opportunities to members of our community who have grown up and been educated in Colorado,” said Bruce DeBoskey, ADL Regional Director. “These students have followed the rules, worked hard and want to work even harder to earn a college education. Colorado will be a poorer place for all of us because we have failed to capitalize on the potential and talents of these students, who find themselves here without documentation through no fault of their own.”
