ADL Boulder Office Combats Divestment Attempt

  • March 28, 2011

Upon learning that a divestment proposal was to be presented to the University of Colorado Board of Regents at its February meeting, ADL’s Boulder Office sprang to action.  The proposal, a one-sided, anti-Israel tirade claiming the myth of Israeli apartheid, called for the entire University of Colorado system to take immediate steps to divest all funds, endowments and pensions from Israel.

The Boulder Office rallied support in communicating the highly politicized, inappropriate and biased nature of the proposal from University contacts and offered support to other community organizations.  By allaying fears in the community, ADL was able to share our correct assessment that this proposal would receive no attention from the Board of Regents.  ADL will continue to monitor the situation and work with campus and community groups to support our Jewish students.
