ADL Provides Trainings to 200 Colorado Law Enforcement Officers

During August and September, the Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region has provided trainings on extremism and hate crimes to more than 200 law enforcement officers and police cadets in Colorado.  ADL has worked with agencies across the state to provide the trainings, including the Adams County Parole Division, the Arapahoe Community College Law Enforcement Academy, the Colorado Association of Code Enforcement Officials and the Colorado Springs Police Department Law Enforcement Academy.  ADL has additional trainings scheduled this fall with departments across the state.

In addition, the Regional Office sent letters to the heads of every police department, sheriff’s office and other law enforcement entities with information about the Jewish institutions in their jurisdictions in advance of the Jewish High Holy Days. The annual mailing provides details to law enforcement about when the holidays will take place and requests that law enforcement take extra measures to ensure the safety and security of Jewish individuals and places of worship. We are pleased to share that several agencies reported they were planning increased patrols as a result of ADL’s letter.

ADL continues to work closely with law enforcement agencies in the Mountain States Region and currently has 450 law enforcement officers on its regional communications list.
