In response to a Denver Post editorial regarding anti-Israel ads that appeared recently on Denver light rail cars and shuttle buses, Mountain States Regional Director Scott L. Levin submitted a letter to the editor published in the Post’s online blog on November 11, 2013:
The Denver Post’s editorial board is to be commended for accurately labeling ads that appear on Regional Transportation District light rail cars and buses accusing Israel of ethnic cleansing as false and misleading. These ads, placed by anti-Israel groups, are part of a larger campaign to delegitimize and demonize the Jewish state.
Like The Denver Post, we believe that the ads are a form of protected speech under the First Amendment, but we strongly object to their offensive message. Ads like these are inaccurate, inflammatory and divisive. They do nothing to advance peace.
