No Place for Hate®

The Anti-Defamation League is proud to continue its No Place For Hate® campaign in the Mountain States Region for a seventh year. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors — The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado and The David and Laura Merage Foundation — this campaign continues to grow.  Applications are now being accepted for 2013-2014.  Thanks also to our supporters, Ball Foundation, Comcast, The Curtiss-Lusher Family, HealthOne/Rose Medical Center, The Heyman Family Fund, The Jonas Family , The Melvin & Elaine Wolf Foundation, Professional Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, Vectra Bank, and Wells Fargo.

No Place for Hate was developed to organize schools to work together and develop projects that enhance the appreciation of diversity and foster harmony amongst diverse groups. The campaign empowers schools to promote respect for individual and group differences while challenging prejudice and bigotry. Every day we make choices. We can choose to let anti-Semitism, racism, and other forms of bigotry go unchallenged and potentially escalate, or we can choose to confront the bias that we see in our workplaces, homes, schools, and communities. As our world becomes smaller and our schools and communities more diverse, it is more critical than ever to actively build bridges to cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect.

 

 

Fifty elementary, middle, and high schools participated in the 2012-2013 No Place for Hate Initiative in Colorado. ADL reached over 47,000 students throughout Colorado, as these schools worked to enhance an appreciation of diversity by promoting respect for individual and group differences while challenging prejudice and bigotry. Students from schools participating in the No Place for Hate initiative are encouraged to enter the Art Event creative expression contest!  The contest is an opportunity for students to submit original artwork that conveys their experiences and feelings about imagining a world without hate.  For details about the contest and how to enter, click here.
