ADL Summer Associate Research Program Continuing for a Seventh Year in Denver

  • May 30, 2014

ADL’s Summer Associate Research Program provides law firm summer associates the opportunity to complete pro bono legal research projects on cutting edge civil rights issues while furthering the mission of the Anti-Defamation League.

2014 is the seventh year of the program in Denver.  Under the direction of a supervising attorney, each summer associate researches an assigned topic and provides a memorandum to ADL. All of the issues researched are important to ADL as we encounter them in our daily work. This year’s topics involve legal questions, including issues pertaining to the First Amendment, civil rights, religious freedom, reproductive rights, discrimination, voting rights, education equity and bullying. There is no cost to participate in the program.

Seven law firms and a total of fifteen associates are participating in the Mountain States program this year:

  • Baker Hostetler, LLP
  • Ballard Spahr
  • Brownstein Hyatt Farber & Schreck, LLP
  • Dorsey & Whitney LLP
  • Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP
  • Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, P.C.
  • Kutak Rock LLP

In addition to researching legal issues, the summer associates will be invited to special events, including a review of the past year’s decisions of the United States Supreme Court.

The program is a benefit to the law students, their sponsoring law firms and to ADL.  It allows summer associates to research challenging, cutting edge legal issues; the participating law firms have the opportunity to observe and evaluate that work and expand the associates’ social/collegial network; and ADL receives the benefit of important pro bono research.

The program is open to any interested Colorado or Wyoming law firm.
