The Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region is pleased to announce that at its Annual Meeting on June 15, the ADL Board unanimously elected Melinda Quiat as its new Chair-Elect and elected 14 new board members.  Ms. Quiat will follow in the footsteps of her father Gerald M. Quiat, who was Regional Board Chair from 1980 – 1982.  Ms. Quiat will become the first second generation chair of the Mountain States Region of ADL when she assumes the role next year.

Ms. Quiat is a long time member and supporter of ADL and the Mountain States Regional Board.  Now the CEO of The Quiat Companies, Ms. Quiat’s diverse previous background includes work as a professional ballet dancer, lab coordinator for a research program and as a mutual fund accountant.  Quiat is involved in many community organizations. In addition to serving on the ADL Mountain States Regional Board and on the National Commission of ADL, she is either a current or recent member of the boards of Judaism Your Way, Colorado Public Radio, the Denver Rotary Foundation and Shalom Cares. In addition, Ms. Quiat has served as the co-Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council’s Advocacy Committee and is the CEO of the Gerald M. and Roberta N. Quiat Family Foundation.

Regional Director Scott Levin noted, “We are fortunate to have a leader with Melinda’s creativity and vast experience in working with ADL and so many other non-profit organizations.  We welcome her leadership as the new Regional Board Chair-Elect.”

In addition, fourteen community leaders were elected to join the ADL Regional Board:  Martin Bregman, Peter Burg, Dr. Richard Davidson, Scott Esserman, Katherine Goldberg, Tamir Goldstein, Matthew LeBauer, Nancy Levine, Sacha Millstone, Matthew Most, Jerry Pinsker, Carolyn Shulman, Scott Stillman and Katerina Yaffe-Larden.

“We are pleased to have these new members join the ADL Regional Board.  Each of them brings a wealth of talent, energy and support to ADL.  It will be a great privilege to work with them,” said current ADL Board Chair Jim Kurtz-Phelan.

The meeting also featured a keynote presentation by Megan Phelps-Roper, formerly of the Westboro Baptist Church, and messages by Scott Levin and Jim Kurtz-Phelan.
