The Anti-Defamation League’s Mountain States Region recently held a preview of the upcoming 2015 Colorado General Assembly and training session for those who will serve as legislative liaisons in the coming year.
More than 20 individuals gathered on December 3 to learn more about the issues that Colorado legislators will likely consider in the upcoming session, which begins on January 7, 2015. Representative Frank McNulty, former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives, and Representative Jonathan Singer provided an overview of some of the issues, including: religious exemptions, school funding, physician-assisted suicide, gun control, regulation of marijuana sales and others.
Participants also received training on how to work with their state legislators, testify in a committee hearing and advocate on issues of importance to ADL. Jeannie Vanderburg, Senior Associate with The Capstone Group, and Jeremy Shaver, ADL’s Assistant Director, led the training.
