ADL Poll of Over 100 Countries Finds More Than One-Quarter of Those Surveyed Hold Anti-Semitic Attitudes

  • June 24, 2014

On May 13th the Anti-Defamation League released the results of an unprecedented worldwide survey of anti-Semitic attitudes. The ADL Global 100: An Index of Anti-Semitism surveyed 53,100 adults in 102 countries and territories in an effort to establish, for the first time, a comprehensive data-based research survey of the level and intensity of anti-Jewish sentiment across the world. Among the major findings, 26% of those surveyed harbored anti-Semitic attitudes.  Seventy percent of those people have never actually met a Jewish person.  In addition, of the 54% that have heard of the Holocaust, 32% believe that what they have heard was either exaggerated or a myth.  The survey is available through an interactive website: http://global100.adl.org/.
