The Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region is pleased to announce that Melinda Quiat will be inducted as its new Regional Board Chair at its Annual Meeting on June 13. Ms. Quiat will follow in the footsteps of her father Gerald M. Quiat, who was Regional Board Chair from 1980 – 1982. Ms. Quiat, a long-time member and supporter of ADL and the Mountain States Regional Board, will become the first second generation chair of the Mountain States Region of ADL when she assumes the role next month. Seventeen new members of the ADL Mountain States Regional Board will also be inducted at the meeting.
As CEO of The Quiat Companies, Ms. Quiat is not only responsible for the strategic planning and growth of the company, but she also oversees the asset management of a large number of real estate and oil and gas acquisitions, and several venture capital and private equity investments. Ms. Quiat’s diverse previous background includes work as a professional ballet dancer, lab coordinator for a research program and as a mutual fund accountant. She is involved in many community organizations. In addition to serving on the ADL Mountain States Regional Board and on the National Commission of ADL, Quiat is either a current or recent member of the boards of Judaism Your Way, Colorado Public Radio, the Denver Rotary Foundation and Shalom Cares. In addition, Ms. Quiat has served as the co-Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council’s Advocacy Committee and is the CEO of the Gerald M. and Roberta N. Quiat Family Foundation. She also serves on the advisory Board of NexusBSP LLC, an energy investment focused firm.
Ms. Quiat is an alumnus of the University of Denver with a Master of Social Work, and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, with B.A.s in Psychology and Anthropology. Her hobbies include reading, bird watching, scuba diving, world travel, anthropology, paleontology and endurance bicycling.
Regional Director Scott Levin noted, “We are fortunate to have a leader with Melinda’s creativity and vast experience in working with ADL and so many other non-profit organizations. We welcome her leadership as the new Regional Board Chair.”
The meeting will also feature a keynote presentation by former white supremacist, author and activist Christian Picciolini, who was recently featured on 60 Minutes.
