The Mountain States office of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will host its 34th Annual Governor’s Holocaust Remembrance Program on Thursday, April 16, from 6:00-7:30 PM in Denver, CO.
The 2015 featured speaker is Eva Mozes Kor, a Holocaust survivor whose topic will be “Survival and Forgiveness: The True Story of Eva Mozes Kor, Mengele Twin.” An internationally renowned speaker, author, and lecturer, Ms. Kor is a founder, along with her sister Miriam, of CANDLES: Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors, an organization, education center and museum located in Terre Haute, Indiana. Ms. Kor travels the world speaking about her experiences and the need for forgiveness, and has worked with Indiana state legislators to make Holocaust education a requirement in the public schools. She is the subject of a number of documentaries and is the author of several books, including Surviving the Angel of Death: The True Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz with Lisa Rojany Buccieri, and Echoes From Auschwitz: Dr. Mengele’s Twins – The Story of Eva and Miriam Mozes as told to Mary Wright.
The program will begin with a candle-lighting ceremony memorializing Holocaust victims and honoring Holocaust survivors. It has traditionally featured a special ‘Message to Colorado’ from the Governor.
ADL is grateful to Mountain States Regional Board Members Justin Borus, Dan Feiner, Andy Gurrentz and Sharon Schonhaut for chairing the program.
