The Gay & Lesbian Fund of Colorado will present ADL with its “2008 Outstanding Non-Profit Organization” award at a gathering in Colorado Springs on December 2. The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado was established in 1996 as a project of the Gill Foundation. Since then, the Gay & Lesbian Fund has awarded more than $20 million to organizations that promote arts and culture, civic leadership, healthy families, and public broadcasting – organizations that share the fund’s commitment to advancing equality and improving quality of life for people across Colorado.
The Gay & Lesbian Fund of Colorado is a sponsor of ADL’s No Place For Hate® project in Colorado and Wyoming schools. ADL’s Mountain States office has established a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Task Force and has worked to advance equality for all people in its anti-bias education programs and in its support for recent Colorado legislation that extended anti-discrimination laws to cover sexual orientation.
