ADL Offers Resources about Racism, Violence, Inequity and the Criminal Justice System

We have all been deeply affected by the tragic deaths of two black men at the hands of police in Louisiana and Minnesota and the murder of five police officers in Dallas and three officers in Baton Rouge. The Anti-Defamation League has valued relationships with law enforcement and well understands the difficult jobs they are asked to do.  It also is a leader in issues pertaining to racism, violence and inequity.  As a result, ADL has made available several resources for educators and others to consider during these difficult times.  In addition, ADL blog posts in June following the mass shooting at Orlando, Florida’s Pulse nightclub and in July following the recent incidents offer some thoughts about hate, bias, propaganda and extremism in light of these tragedies.  While calamities such as these bring with them a wide range of emotions including anger, sorrow, loss, hopelessness, horror, fear, rage and even powerlessness, we also know that just as bias and hate are learned, they can also be unlearned.
