Over 200 supporters joined ADL’s Mountain States Region at its third ArtWorks event honoring Gareth Heyman and Betsy Mordecai Heyman, owners of MorEvents and tremendous community philanthropists, on April 19, 2016. ArtWorks: Where Justice and Art Come Together was presented by BNY Mellon Wealth Management.
The evening included a cocktail reception, silent art auction, music, photo booth and a live graffiti artist. The silent auction featured over 70 pieces of original works of art from local artists that were inspired by the theme JustART. Regional Board member and ArtWorks committee member Melinda Quiat presented Gareth and Betsy with the Tzedek award in honor of their outstanding contributions to the community and pursuit of social justice.
Proceeds from the art auction support the Anti-Defamation League’s regional programming and the work of ADL in Colorado and Wyoming, including fighting bigotry, racism and anti-Semitism; combating bias, bullying and hate through our No Place for Hate® initiative; advocating for civil rights and religious freedom; training law enforcement about extremist groups; responding to hate crimes; and responding to complaints of discrimination.
The dedicated Event Committee was comprised of ADL Board Members Adam Berger, Susan Brody, Peggy Goldman, Tracy McCarthy, Anat Moskowitz, Melinda Quiat, Andrea Shpall, Holly Stein Sollod and Debra Weinstein.
