The Horrific Mass Shooting in Buffalo: Resources for Young People

Another mass shooting has taken place, a violent massacre in which the shooter targeted a Black community after posting a white supremacist tract online that espoused virulently antisemitic and racist beliefs.

Young people need our guidance and support as they try, yet again, to process and cope with this unfathomable display of violence, extremism and hate. It’s important for young people to know that they can depend on the adults in their lives to be there for them and to create a safe space for expression, understanding and reflection.  We understand how overwhelming it can be for young people, educators and families to talk about these issues, but it’s critically important to be prepared to do so.
